So with attempting to inhale most of the pool last week with failing to time by breathing correctly and wearing myself out, I have managed to figure out that the best way for me to do this at the moment is to complete half the length in breaststroke and then switching to front crawl. On the most part this is working. I am getting a little concerned on the odd moment about what on earth it is I seem to be breathing in / drinking, but so far it hasn’t damaged my constitution.
I am starting to feel the benefits from swimming too: I am finding my balance in my horse riding has suddenly improved, and when my young horse tries to threaten an emergency exit, I have managed to cling on board for dear life! In fact, I have actually started to get compliments about my posture, so that must be improving too now that my tummy muscles are gathering strength again. Overall, I must admit it is making me fell a lot more positive about my abilities and fitness.
I am still a long way off my target, but I am carrying on knuckling down to work…
