I’m Amy, I live just outside Cardiff in sunny South Wales and I work for The Prince’s Trust charity. I’m a complete open water swimming novice, but I love any excuse to get in the sea, my favourite spots are in Pembrokeshire and Greece!

I am originally from Portugal but I now live and work in Somerset with my husband and 2 boys. I was diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of 15 and I have endured many surgeries, treatments and procedures. Although now cancer free, I had my last operation in 2019 when I was fitted with a new prosthetic shin.

I am a 21 year old University student about to graduate in a couple of months. With few plans for my future at the moment, Now, with it being a time of massive change in my life, I am relieved to have been given this opportunity as it provides me with something to aim towards within this transition period.

My name is Glenys and am super excited about rising to the challenge of the Henley Mile. Over the past year, i have managed to do the complete opposite of the Couch to 5K so am looking forward to actually being motivated with a friendly group of other mad cold water swimmers.

I have wanted to do open water swimming for over a decade now, ever since I swam in a lagoon on a holiday abroad over 10 years ago (admittedly the water was a lot warmer there compared to the UK!).

I am a nurse at Colchester Hospital, I live in Dedham Essex. It has been very tough lately as I have been on the front line. I am so pleased to have been chosen to be one of the 6 and I am looking forward to meeting the other girls and developing a friendship and looking forward to the challenge.
