Swimming in Pairs

July 1st, 2015 / by / in: Uncategorised / No responses

I have managed to make it to the pool quite a few times since my last post. Getting fit again appears to be taking longer than I had anticipated…

My swimming buddy is absolutely fantastic though. He keeps nudging me one once I have recovered from my laps, and helping with my technique and breathing. It is being a lot more difficult that I had thought though, but a bit of cheering on from a friend definitely helps. I definitely am enjoying breast stroke rather than front crawl at the moment as my muscles are fatiguing more quickly and I haven’t quite mastered the art of not inhaling water at odd times! Physically and mentally, I want to breathe every 4 beats, but due to the fatigue kicking in, I need to do it every 2 to make sure my muscles get enough oxygen.  But as this means breathing more frequently, I haven’t quite sussed the timing.

But there have been no more incidences of attempted drowning so we are on the up….
