Another good week in the pool has passed. I am pleased with how the swims have gone and am looking forward to pushing my training up a notch next week.

I’m taking B12 injections for Pernicious Anaemia and have really noticed a difference in my energy levels. I can even keep up a fairly consistant leg-kick in the pool now without feeling completely drained.

This is a major difference compared to last year!

A neighbour very kindly popped round with a copy of the newspaper article that featured my planned Henley Mile swim. My 16 year-old son saw it and posted it to his Instagram account while I was at work as he was so proud of his ‘inspirational mum’ – bless him, I really hope that I don’t let him down.

Apart from that, not much to report this week. I have treated myself to a new pair of ‘anti-fog’ goggles and need to invest in some fins (flippers) and a pull-bouy for my training sessions with South West Swim. I get way more excited about these types of purchases though compared to shoes and handbags (luckily!)
