For the first couple of laps, I think of my stroke, breathing, pace and then before I know what is happening my mind starts to wander, flowing easily from my Ocado shopping list, to lists of things I need to do, a list of jobs for my husband (my personal favourite), list of things I need to remind the children to do and then of course, a list of things that I have probably forgotten to do. Thankfully, I love a list! (my husband less so).

Thank you Zoggs for my goggles and cozzie, Swim Secure for my hat and Selkie for my water bottle #allthegearandnoidea
Now that I am swimming for longer, my mind is desperately searching for things to keep it entertained, so I start to name the characters in films I watched as a child, name the circle line underground stations in a clockwise and then anti-wise direction from Paddington and it was at this moment that I decided there must be other options. So, I am now the proud owner of a waterproof iPod, listening to retro tracks which seems to be helping with my state of mind, if nothing else, my family are grateful for a lull in the lists they are receiving.
