All finishers receive a completion time, goody bag and medal.
Entry to any of the swimming events also includes free entry to the Outdoor Swimmer Show for participants and their family/supporters.

THE OUTDOOR SWIMMER SHOW
The Outdoor Swimmer Show is organised by Outdoor Swimmer Magazine and combines an outdoor swimming expo with a chance to get in the water to test the latest kit or just to enjoy a casual swim. Try on a wet suit or book a swimming holiday and be inspired by our great speakers and guest coaches.
The Outdoor Swimmer Show takes place alongside the Henley Mile and is free to attend.

PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL NEED TO WALK TO THE START OF EACH EVENT (1 MILE, ½ MILE, 200M)
Once you have decided which distance you would like to swim, you can go to our online registration system and select your entry option. As well as providing your personal details, you will need to select a wave. For the Mile there is a choice of 6 waves throughout the day – you can select the one that suits you best. The Half Mile and Splash have a choice of 2 waves. For Suits vs Skins you can select a combination of waves to suit you.
NB: All mile swimmers should be confident of being able to swim at least 2.5k non-stop to take part in this event and half mile swimmers should be able to swim 1km non-stop. All Henley splash swimmers should have completed basic swimming lessons and be comfortable treading water in the deep end of a swimming pool. Ideally they should be able to swim 20 lengths without stopping.
The wave times are as follows, you are completely in control, and can choose which time you wish to swim:
09:30 Mile Wave 1 (age 14+)
10.15 Mile Wave 2 (age 14+)
11:00 Mile Wave 3 (age 14+)
11:40 Half Mile Wave 1 (age 9+)
12:00 Half Mile Wave 2 (age 9+)
12:30 Splash Wave 1 (age 8-12)
12:45 Splash Wave 2 (age 8-12)
13:15 Mile Wave 4 (age 14+)
14:00 Mile Wave 5 (age 14+)
14:45 Mile Wave 6 (age 14+)
Please note that these times are subject to change, depending on demand.
Swimmers will be expected to arrive at the event around 1 1/2 – 2 hours before their wave time.
As there are waves throughout the day, the results of the Mile and Suits vs Skins for both adults and juniors will not be known until the last wave is complete. Swimmers will be able to check their times after their swim, and a complete list of results, including age group positions, will be available online at the end of the day.
There will be prize giving for the junior Half Mile and Splash events. These will be broken down by sex and age group, and will be presented at the event soon after the results are available.
Yes, you can swim with your children in all events.
The Mile – if your child is 14 or over you can swim the mile together, please make sure you select the same wave during the registration process.
The Half Mile – if your child is 9 or over you can swim the half mile together, please make sure you select the same wave during the registration process.
The Splash – if your child is aged 8-12, one adult can accompany the child free of charge. Register your child for the Splash, tick the accompanying adult box, and add your details where requested. If you are swimming with more than one child, only add your details on the registration of the first child.
Children are allowed to swim alone, and do not need to have an accompanying adult.
Yes, we offer a family ticket for either 2 Adults and 2 Children or 1 Adult and 3 Children.
The family ticket can be purchased when 4 members of the same family (if your surnames are different, you may be asked for proof) each enter an event. For example, if you have one adult doing the mile, one adult doing the half mile and 2 children doing the splash, you will save money by buying a family ticket.
Please select the events that you wish to enter, and make the family ticket payment. You will then be contacted by the customer services team, they will send you an email that will allow you to complete your full registration.
In a bid to once and for all determine the performance boost given by wetsuits, competitors will have the opportunity to take part in the “Suits v Skins Challenge“.
Anyone who wants to take part in this challenge will need to swim the Mile twice: once with a wetsuit and once without.
The winner will be the person with the fastest cumulative time for the two miles – but everyone taking part will see what difference swimming in a wetsuit really makes.
